The TechServe Alliance was founded in 1985 with the name National Association of Computer Consultant Businesses (NACCB), and is a not-for-profit trade association working for higher standards and good business practices in the computer consulting field. The TechServe Alliance is dedicated to encourage the growth of the computer consulting industry to be in the best interests of the consultants, the members, and their clients, and they continue to actively lobby legislative issues relevant to the industry.

Members of the TechServe Alliance are technically sophisticated, specialized consulting firms of all sizes with a strong record of achievement and a commitment to the highest standards of service. Members are required to observe a Code of Ethics framed to ensure fair treatment, to encourage full disclosure, to eliminate potential abuses and conflicts through model contracts, to train in legal and regulatory issues, and to ensure that members are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
